This is a special edition of TENNESSEE FILMMAKER: THE PODCAST! Wednesday, July 27 the Knoxville Film Festival 7-Day Shootout Filmmaking Competition Kick-off event took place where 31 team leaders gathered to choose their genre and get instructions for the competition. We recorded the event for the podcast. Local film celebrities Jeff Delaney and Jacob Boyd were our special hosts for this podcast providing play-by-play commentary as the events unfolded (honestly, they did a lot of rambling in a golf match announcer sort of way - but its fun). Don't miss this one. It's a hoot!
On this week's TENNESSEE FILMMAKER: THE PODCAST, Knoxville educator and filmmaker Lea McMahan discusses her new short film "free variable" which will screen at the 2016 Knoxville Film Festival. Also, we reveal the final genre for the upcoming KFF 7-Day Shootout Filmmaking Competition!
On this episode of TENNESSEE FILMMAKER: THE PODCAST, Dogwood Arts Project Manager Garrett Thomson and I announce and briefly discuss each of the 47 films selected for the 2016 Knoxville Film Festival, August 26-28. We also reveal another genre for the KFF 7-Day Shootout Filmmaking Competition. And, to our filmmakers, if I "butchered" the pronunciation of your name or of the tittle of your film, I apologize!
On this week's edition of Tennessee Filmmaker: The Podcast, my guests are filmmakers Kelly Shipe and Mandi Lawson. They discuss their brand new short film, YOU AND ME AND ALSO A WHALE, that will screen at this year's Knoxville Film Festival. We also reveal another genre for the 7-day shootout!
Guests include local filmmaking team Jeremy W Lowery and Chuck Morgan along with student filmmaker Kevin Keck. Jeremy and Chuck discuss their 54 Film Festival winning film "Coined" and what led them to enter the 2016 KFF 7-Day Shootout for the very first time and Kevin talks about his studies at Chapman University where he is studying film production. We also reveal another genre for the 7-Day Shootout!
