On this edition of TENNESSEE FILMMAKER: THE PODCAST, the 2016 Knoxville Film Festival is just days away and I provide an update on all the activities and events for the festival. In addition, for those new to the film festival, I talk a bit about the history of the Knoxville Film Festival and how its roots trace back 13 years.

On this week's TENNESSEE FILMMAKER: THE PODCAST, I had a chance to briefly talk with many of the team leaders as they met the deadline and turned in their films Wednesday evening for the Knoxville Film Festival 7-Day Shootout Filmmaking Competition. It was an exciting night with the first submission right at 5 pm and the final one coming in with less than one minute until the deadline!

Wednesday, July 27 the Knoxville Film Festival 7-Day Shootout Filmmaking Competition Kick-off event took place where 31 team leaders gathered to choose their genre and get instructions for the competition. We recorded the event for the podcast. Local film celebrities Jeff Delaney and Jacob Boyd were our special hosts for this podcast providing play-by-play commentary as the events unfolded (honestly, they did a lot of rambling in a golf match announcer sort of way - but its fun).
